Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The Free plan gives you 5 transcripts per day forever. You only add a card when you upgrade to Plus or Pro.
What counts as a transcript?
One transcript = one successful run on a single video or podcast URL. Failed jobs do not count against your daily limit. Re-transcribing the same URL pulls from cache for free.
What are API credits and do they roll over?
Plus and Pro include monthly API credits ($5 / $25) that you spend when using the REST API, MCP server, or webhook integrations. Unused credits roll over month to month for as long as your subscription stays active.
What happens if I run out of credits?
The web app keeps working at your normal daily limit. API and MCP calls switch to your tier's overage rate (Pro has a lower rate) and are billed at the end of the month. You can set a spend cap in settings.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes — one click in your billing settings. You keep paid features until the end of the current billing period, then drop to Free. No retention questionnaires, no friction.
Monthly or yearly — can I switch later?
Either direction, any time. Switching to yearly gives you 2 months free; switching from yearly to monthly takes effect at the next renewal so you keep the discount you already paid for.
Do you offer refunds?
If you upgrade and it doesn't click within 7 days, email us and we'll refund — no questions. After that, you can cancel any time and you won't be charged again.
Discounts for students, nonprofits, or open source?
Yes. Email us from your .edu address or with a link to your nonprofit / open source project and we'll set you up with a discount on Plus or Pro.
